HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is sometimes also called high-intensity intermittent exercise or sprint interval training. HIIT workouts are a form of interval training using alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. This type of training demands an all-out, 100% effort through short bursts of high-intensity exercise followed by short recovery periods.
